When pregnant with our first someone told me, "trust your instincts, opinions are just that.. opinions." It wasn't so much advice as permission to trust my, and my husband's, instincts in both pregnancy and once we met our gor- geous girl, and it allowed us to stop feeling as though we were doing things wrong because our decisions couldn't possibly make everyone else happy too. Best "advice" I ever received. Brooke K. Agreed! You can read all the books and listen to everyone else, but you know what is best for your child and family in the end. Mishka B. While pregnant with my oldest, one of my friends told me the same thing: "You are going to get advice from everyone about every- thing. Listen to them, smile and nod, and then do what your mommy instinct tells you to do." EMAIL your FEEDBACK to editor@fredericksburgparent.net WRITTEN BY STEPHANIE MALDONADO Rappahannock Goodwill Industries Samantha C. In the words of Darius Rucker " it won't be like this for long." Just when you think the nights won't get any longer, suddenly you start to get more sleep and the days are brighter. Rebecca L. When people offer help, take it! Most people are serious and actually want to help you and your little ones. As a mom, you just don't have to do it all! " " parenting Codi R. You will always love your children. But there are moments you willl not like them and that's ok. Megan S. The days are long but the years are short - treasure each moment! What's the best piece of you've ever gotten ? advice
