Everyone loves a good donut, especially our readers. This is why it comes as no surprise that Sugar Shack Donuts was voted, "Best Downtown Fredericksburg Shop," and received 4th place in, "Specialty Food Shops." in our 2016 Family Favorites Contest! In the short time it's been around, Sugar Shack has made its mark on Fredericksburg. For example, instead of opening their store in a new building, Sugar Shack took on the chal- lenge of renovating an abandoned gas station on William Street. What was once an eyesore is now a fun, contempo- rary bakery. They've also participated in several downtown events and have collaborated with many local businesses. Sugar Shack's Fredericksburg location serves an array of donuts such as blueberry glazed, chocolate and caramel with sea salt, and maple bacon. Of course, they do stay true to classics like chocolate iced and glazed. Love coffee with your donuts? Sugar Shack roasts its own line of small batch coffee in Richmond. They've also partnered with Baltimore's Zeke's Coffee to provide the freshest coffee possible to store locations further north. What are we most excited about? They're opening a loca- tion in Stafford. Move over ice-cream truck. This is the summer of donuts!
