Truth be told, I'm still in denial that 1990 was 30 years ago (that was 1970, right?) and the biggest New Year's Eve celebration in my lifetime happened 20 years ago. Remember when we were kids and it felt forever between birthdays? As an adult, time seems to move at a mind-boggling rate of speed. But time waits for no one. That's what they say anyway. And though my grow- ing fear of hearing A Tribe Called Quest and Stone Temple Pilots on the "Hits of Yesterday" station hasn't happened, it will. Last month at my annual eye exam, my optometrist said that while I've had no noticeable change in vision, I may want to think about reading glasses. Over the summer, I spotted two gray hairs near my temple while brushing my hair. The 2020s may be the decade where both Pharrell and I show a little more of our true age. If this new decade moves as rapidly as the last two, in no time it will be 2030 and my boys will be adults and my daughter will be in high school. My wife and I will be celebrating our 19th wed- ding anniversary, and I'll be over 50 (but that's the new 30 they say, so we're good). Mind. Blown. In retrospect, my family and I have made a lot of great memories over the past 10 years. From having more children to new house, it's been a wild ride. And now that my kids are growing up and pursuing their own inter- ests, I know that our escapades will only be that much more exciting. With that, I say cheers to a new year, a new decade and new family adven- tures. May you age with grace and your next 10 years be full of happiness, love and prosperity. WRITTEN BY CHRIS JONES letter to readers "...cheers to a new year, a new decade and new family adventures." Where'd the TIME Go?
