It delivers important emergency alerts, notifications and updates (swim-les- son cancellations, pool closures, etc.) to you on all of your devices. Nothing beats a cold pool on a hot day. Thanks to the Doris E. Buffett Pool (Dixon Park Pool), kids in the city of Fredericksburg can take a cool dip and enjoy other amenities, like its waterslide, water features for little ones and a zero-depth entry area for easy access. The pool is free to use for city residents, but non-residents are welcome to play for a small non-resident fee. The Doris E. Buffett Pool offers swimming lessons, pool-party rentals and seasonal events. This year, those events will include a "Zombie Hunt," doggy swim day and more. There is also an area where you can purchase food and escape the sun under tables with umbrellas. The pool is located in Dixon park at 1300 Dixon Street, which is on Rt. 2 & 17 across from Mayfield subdivision. For more information, check out its section on the Fredericksburg City website: https://www.fredericksburgva.gov/departments/rec- reation/index.aspx?id=1131 Dixon Park Pool This is a monthly column featuring winners and nominees of the 2017 FredParent Family Favorite contest.
