The child is resigned to play by himself until the power goes out. Forced to put their activities on hold, the family learns to make time for one another and live in the moment. Even in the dark, rocco's illustrations emit a soft warm glow. Jon scieszka's Time Warp Trio books are perfect for fans of the Magic Tree House series or Sideways Stories from Wayside school. Joe got a special book from his weird uncle. now he and his two best friends have the ability to travel through time! The boys make wisecracks at the expense of knights, pirates and gladiators, but my favorite of the series is called Summer Reading is Killing Me! The boys find themselves trapped in their school summer reading list, where book characters from different worlds are crossing paths and causing chaos. What's more, a surprise villain must be stopped, and you won't believe who it is.
