Calling
All Cat
Lovers
Fredericksburg Parent and the FXBG Advance are sponsoring the first
ever walking tour of the cats of the Canal Quarter neighborhood.
The charming historic neighborhood abounds in
cats, including a famous cat about town named
"Dude."
Beginning from Haley's Honey Meadery and
the Canal Quarter Arts shop, the walking tour
will view neighborhood cats sitting in windows,
wearing leashes outside, or ensconced in their
favorite cat carriers. Neighborhood cat owners
have enthusiastically volunteered 16 of their cats
to introduce to the tour members, with more to
come. Haley's Honey Meadery is planning cat-themed food offerings and
Canal Quarter Arts will have cat art in abundance available for purchase.
Cats who do not reside in the neighborhood, but whose owners don't
want to miss the fun, are welcome to visit in appropriate carriers at the
Haley's Meadery courtyard or the Canal Quarter Arts courtyard.
Special cat tour merchandise will be available. Proceeds will benefit the
SPCA and the nonprofit newsroom, the FXBG Advance.
The event is planned for Saturday, October 12 from 1 to 3 pm.
