The Rosner Family YMCA aquatics staff has a range of swim lessons avail- able, from early learners to the competitive RAYS swim team. All of it takes place year-round in the Y's 10-lane competition pool. Tweens and teens are old enough to start learn- ing to build healthy habits that will last a lifetime. You set the example by committing to your own fitness program—but there's no need to leave this age group at home. Starting at age 10, children can go through ori- entation in the Wellness Center with a YMCA trainer. While there are some restrictions on what preteens can use, the trainer will explain what is available and how to use it safely. At this point, the child may use the Wellness Center with a parent or adult. Starting at age 13, children who have gone through the training are able to work out without an adult present.
