18 Fredericksburg Parent and Family • May 2023 On the long list of things busy parents have to do each day, fitting in a workout can seem nearly impossible. But healthy parents are the foundation of healthy families, and making time to take care of yourself in this way can have ripple effects that will benefit your entire household. The Ron Rosner Family YMCA in Spotsylvania County offers a variety of services that can make it easier for you to keep a fit- ness routine going amid the constant demands of life with kids. WRITTEN BY EMILY FREEHLING Childcare While You Work Out The YMCA's Kidz Corner has expand- ed its hours to open up more oppor- tunity for parents to drop children off while they work out on-site during the day. And as of this spring, mem- bers no longer need to sign up ahead of time for Kidz Zone slots—just drop in and get moving! Our childcare is a lot more than just babysitting—we follow lesson plans for various age groups, and offer a Kids' Gym until noon on weekdays to keep older children active. Families can access up to three hours of care per day for on-site workouts.
