14 Fredericksburg Parent and Family • August 2021 In 2016, Latrice Claiborne was at home on mater- nity leave, taking care of a newborn and a toddler. She dreaded going back to the daily grind—the commute, getting her kids to daycare by 7 am, etc. She believed that there was a better way to make a living, and that she was meant to do more. Looking back, Claiborne recalls how she felt. "I wanted to serve more people in a greater capac- ity," she says. "To be able to serve in this world and in my community the way I want to." With a baby in her arms and a toddler on her hip, overwhelmed and overworked, Claiborne took a leap of faith and start her own business. "I have dreams and goals," she says.
