It's Groundhog Day...again
I think that we've all felt stuck in a rut at some point in our lives... a place that we feel trapped in, an endless situation, or just simply powerless, without control... I know I have for many years now. Doing the same damn thing day after day. Dealing with the same meltdowns, tantrums, and demands from my daughter. Trying to teach her for the ten thousandth time to do something ... and failing yet again. Cleaning up her messes, driving her to school and therapy. Feeding, bathing, laundry, bills... pass out and wake up to the alarm clock beeping. Rinse and repeat.
Most people have some version of this. The real problem is that we think that we're the only one suffering. That no one else is in a miserable or repetitive or boring or painful situation and we feel embarrassed. The truth is that you are not alone. *cough* Repetitive theme I know ha! Misery loves company... Stuck in your own personal groundhog day?? ...fight against it, change, or find acceptance and make the best of the situation... There are often small things that can be done to make life a little better. Small, seemingly insignificant changes can alter the course and put us on a new path... like a pebble that bounces a tire out of a rut... Do what you can, even if that is only to tell someone how you feel... sharing is often very liberating and can take the weight off your shoulders... Happy Groundhog Day *hug*
Oh, and if you haven't seen this movie I highly recommend it ;-)
