I have never been a big follower of the royal family. I suppose it has something to do with the fact that I was never really into fairytales and princesses as a little girl. I never fantasized about my wedding day or prince charming. It’s not that I dislike all that princess-y stuff. I just felt… I don’t know… “meh,” about it as a kid.
Needless to say, I didn’t wake up at 3:00am to watch the royal wedding. I don’t know anything about Prince Harry’s latest wild night out. I don’t even know who’s next in line for the crown. Well, other than her:
I do, however, have a soft spot for Kate Middleton. I love how classy and approachable she is. I love that she wears the same dress more than once. I love that she was just a girl that grew up to marry a prince. More than anything though, I love this:
I love that she is unapologetically showing her post-partum bump! She’s not attempting to hide it behind her baby, or conceal it with spanx and a flowy dress. It warms my heart to see a postpartum woman in the media look postpartum. Especially, since we live in a world where women walk half naked down a catwalk six weeks after delivering a baby. Granted, if I looked like a Victoria's Secret model 6 weeks postpartum, I probably would strut my stuff too!
Bravo to The Duchess of Cambridge! You are definitely an inspiration to this post-partum mama!
