I have two sons with uncommon names: Archer and Maddox. People usually ask if they're family names or if they hold some special meaning to us. The truth? We...uh... just liked the names. There's no real story behind it! They were simply the only two names that we both mutually liked after perusing the internet for several weeks. Quite a let down, I know! I've always thought giving a baby a name that held a special significance was an amazing idea. We just didn't do it!
Having three kids has always been our game plan. Though we're not planning on getting pregnant any time soon, it is fun to chat about names. Finding a good boy name is the hardest since Archer and Maddox are so unique. Conversely, there are about a million girl names that we adore. J and I usually play around the with the baby naming site, www.nameberry.com when we're discussing names. We've never actually looked in a baby name book. Weird, eh?
Another weird fact, if I been a boy I would have had J's first name. Crazy, right? If Maddox was a girl, he would have been named Felicity Rose. If Archer had been a girl, he would have been Avery Noelle. Now I feel like I can't use those names for future children because their "claimed" in some strange way. Oh the weirdness that is my brain...
So tell me, how did you pick your kid's names? What are some of your current favorites?
