As a fearless point guard, Sophie played the game without a care in the world. But a
stray elbow – and the concussion that followed – had her struggling just to walk. Sophie
was referred to the area's top concussion specialists at Children's Hospital of Richmond
at VCU. Now, after months of hard work in physical and occupational therapy, Sophie's
back on the court. It's just one more way we're discovering the best care for kids.
Dr. Dillard and his team were discovering ways to prevent a
severe concussion from keeping her on the bench.
