After I observed stu- dents and teachers in action, I found myself wishing I had been able to attend a school like this one, where I could have excelled as a student, athlete, artist, and leader. It has been a privilege to call FA my second home for nearly two decades, first as Athletic Director, then as Head of Middle School, and now as Head of School. As the school has grown over the years, we have remained true to our mission to nurture the potential of each student. Every day, I am amazed by the work being done by students and teachers in our classrooms, science labs, art studios, theater, and on our fields and courts. As an accredited, independent, college- preparatory school, Fredericksburg Academy provides a unique educational option for the children of our region. We are proud of our record of 100 percent college acceptance, small class sizes (7:1 student-teacher ratio), passionate teachers (55% of whom hold advanced degrees), emphasis on honor, inclusive learning environment, and opportu- nities in the arts and athletics for all students. I sincerely hope that you will schedule a visit to our campus so you can experience the same warmth I felt on my first visit in 1996. It is impossible to understand the FA differ- ence without seeing it for yourself. Call us at 540.898.0020 to schedule your personal tour, or stop by during our Explore FA Day on Saturday, January 31 from 12-2 p.m. FA Head of School Karen A.
