letter to reader
Feeling
HOT,
HOT,
HOT
Summertime is my favorite time of year. While I am a native of Pennsylvania, I
most definitely prefer hot over cold and I dread the snow, so I am in my element
this time of year. We are in the throes of the summer heat now and I am loving
being outdoors poolside, at the water park or soaking up the sun along the banks
of the river.
Not only is the weather hot, but so is this issue, as we celebrate the best of the
best here in Fredericksburg with the winners of our annual Family Favorites
Awards. Our readers shared their favorites in more than 50 categories this year,
the 10th year Fredericksburg Parent & Family has presented these awards to you.
Thanks to all who voted.
If you are looking for a new pediatrician, a new school for your child, a new res-
taurant to try, a new gift shop to browse, ideas for free things to do in the area
or indoor activities for the family (if you are unlike me and can't stand the heat),
then be sure to pack this issue and have it on hand with you as you get out and
explore this month. From the best child care to the best day care for your dog-
gies, we have you covered.
Whether you prefer the scorching temperatures of July or would rather hang out
in the air conditioning, I hope you are enjoying your summer so far and are taking
full advantage of everything Fredericksburg has to offer this season.
See you next month,
Brandy
