Six Ways to have a
Great Visit to the Dentist
1. Start your child young, their first
visit should be around age one.
2. Teach them good dental
hygiene– every cavity that never
happens means less potential
dental trauma.
3. Read the disclosure your
dentist has you sign- often
they are electronic, but buried
in those details could be more
information on how they handle
difficult situations.
4. Find out what your dentist's
policies are before procedure
day- do they allow parents
back, how do they care for
special needs kids, do they use
papooses?
5. Ask your dentist if they practice
'Tell-Show-Do'.
6. Tell your dentist that you need
to be with your child for any
procedures that might cause
them distress.
