www.FredericksburgParent.NET 25 Fredericksburg Parent Gives, the nonprofit arm of Fredericksburg Parent and Family, is proud to house the FXBG Advance, a nonprofit newsroom covering local politics and education issues. Last month, the FXBG Advance provided Fredericksburg Parent readers with hard data on the status of our public school systems. This month, the Advance is putting out the most comprehensive voters' guide in the area for the upcoming November elections. Early voting has started, and the guide will remain at the top of the FXBG Advance website through November 7, election day. Voter's Guide Now The guide lists candidates by the office they're seeking, and the county they're running in. When FXBG Advance has an interview with the candidate, the guide hyperlinks to their name. For interviews that have been conducted or have a date set for taping, there is a note next to the candidate's name. Finally, next to each candidate's name (when a seat is contested) is a link to the campaign website set off by brackets. In addition to the Voter's guide, the FXBG Advance has several podcast episodes showcasing local candidates. You can find the New Dominion podcast, hosted by Shaun Kelley and Martin Davis on any podcasting site. The interviews are remarkable for their civility and abil- ity to find common ground between opposing candi- dates. The interview of Tom Coen and Deuntay Diggs, both candidates for the Stafford Board of Supervisors' George Washington District is particularly interesting. With redistricting this year, there are many questions about what district people are in. The site provides an interactive map that shows how the districts have changed.For those unsure of where they are registered, or where there polling location is, live links on the site take you to the information you need.
