The Stomp: FXBC exhibit contains fun interactive
experiences for the whole family. Families can make
their own trackways using 3-D printed dinosaur foot-
prints or try and find the ten dinosaur silhouettes scat-
tered across all three floors of the museum. The Dino
Destination Passport is your museum guide. Next to
each colorful dinosaur silhouette is a stamping station
where families can stamp the dinosaur's footprint on
their passport. The shortest dinosaurs are located on the
first floor near their footprints. The taller the dinosaur,
the higher the floor they are on. You must look high and
low throughout your museum visit and remember to
stop at the front desk at the end for a special prize!
If you are looking for a homeschool or group field trip,
FAM offers a fun variety of dinosaur education programs
for preschoolers and elementary students. Groups can
schedule a guided tour of the dinosaur exhibit filled
with science experiments, movement activities and
crafts. This spring, Fredericksburg City and King George
County's Head Start students participated in this new
field trip program. The two most popular preschool
activities were making dinosaur tracks and trackways in
playdough and a mock excavation where kids could dig
for dinosaur bones. These field trips offer a deeper look
into Fredericksburg's dinosaurs and must be booked
ahead of time. For more information about field trip pro-
gramming, contact tcramer@famva.org.
