Earlier this year, FAM also encouraged families to capture their
own memories from 2020 through an at-home DIY time capsule
activity.
"I hope that people realize that history is being made every day
and that everyone's story matters," Cramer says.

Collecting Pieces
of History
Fredericksburg Area Museum is in the process of obtaining
objects to commemorate the year 2020 and the COVID-19 pan-
demic for future generations. Among the items that have been
collected so far or will soon be collected for possible use as
artifacts are:
· Campus safety signs and other materials from the
University of Mary Washington
· Four issues of Fredericksburg Parent & Family featuring
stories related to the pandemic
· Instruction materials from local schools
· Objects from the museum including a banner and
poster of George Washington wearing a mask with the
quote "The harder the conflict, the greater the triumph,"
and the words "Stay Safe Fredericksburg." "It's become
our signature image during the pandemic," says
Theresa Cramer, the museum's education and public
programs coordinator.
