www.FredericksburgParent.NET 35 At Fredericksburg Parent and Family magazine we love our local parents and their talented children. This truly is the best place to raise a family and on Saturday, November 2nd we added yet another amazing reason to love where you live. The fi rst ever, Fredericksburg Parent Children's Business Fair was held in conjunction with our partner Spotsylvania Towne Centre mall. Over 35 child entrepre- neurs came ready to sell their goods and services. They learned how to execute a business plan through real life, on the spot, selling to mall goers. Each child made a profi t and $200.00 in prize money was awarded. The children entrepreneurs were each interviewed by an amazing panel of judges including Karime Echevarria, co-owner of Virtuous Dance; Nancy Masannat, owner of Simple Joy Designs; Karen Moschetto, Head of School at Fredericksburg Academy; and Dr. Tom Van Doren, VP of Robotic Engineering at HDT Global. Fredericksburg Parent and Spotsylvania Towne Centre mall provided each child with free event registration, a complimentary table for selling, as well as cash and participation prizes. Prizes included a family-pack to Rush Hour Escapes, tickets to Paragon Village 12 theater, and 60 minute Jump Pass to SkyZone. FredParent thanks our event sponsors Patient First and Fredericksburg Academy whose fi nancial sup- port made this event possible. If you have a budding entrepreneur, ages 5-17 years, then the Fredericksburg Parent Children's Business Fair is for them!
