Would you live in a hounted house? What about a “slightly haunted” house? I reposted this Zillow link on Facebook the other day, and apparently so did many other people. The house has attracted ghost hunters and thrill seekers alike. The owners, however, are still looking for a buyer (*nudge, nudge*).
The Dunmore, PA, home is currently listed at $144,000 and, according to Zillow.com, is:
“Slightly haunted. Nothing serious, though. e.g. The sounds of phantom footsteps. A strange knocking sound followed by a very quiet (hardly noticeable, even) scream at 3:13am, maybe once a week. Twice a week, tops. And the occasional ghastly visage lurking behind you in the bathroom mirror. Even still, this occurs very rarely and only in the second floor bathroom.”
I mean… no biggie, right?
One of my childhood homes was an old Victorian number built in the 1800s. It was also slightly haunted. Legend has it, the ghost of a young school teacher haunts the grand fireplace, in the living room. If you asked me, though, I think the coal cellar is where the real haunting was/is. The house even has a secret staircase that leads from the pantry to a back room upstairs! One of my earliest memories is people asking to tour the house. Totally normal.
Aside from the current, spooky resident, the Dunmore home really does seem rather charming! Check out that beautiful stained glass by the front door!
So tell me, would you buy a slightly haunted house?
