Don't Worry Be Happy

April 28, 2014

Two weeks into the school year and after enduring only a few mornings of dragging the kids out of bed and zombie walking them to school I think I've almost recovered from a very long & painful summer. I had hoped by now that I'd have the house clean again and have started at least one of the projects I had lined up but I was wrong. I find myself spending a couple of hours each day in the gym, hanging out on Google+, and reading. I guess I'm getting my house in order... restoring some sanity & letting my wounds heal. I've seen some moms out there post that they haven't done this or that and they feel guilty they aren't using this time away from the kids well. I'd say to any of you reading this and in the same situation to shed the useless guilt. Do some things for you, things you enjoy... crafts ... reading... day trip ... lunch/brunch with friends. Enjoy whatever you're doing fully and don't taint it with "I should be"-s... Recharge your battery...

Oh and a little thank you gift for your children's teacher(s) might be a nice gesture, because after all they are the ones now dealing with our kids and dozens more… I suggest this modern, adult equivalent to giving the teacher a red apple...

redds apple
